Drew and Randi Engaged | Edmonton Wedding Photographer

I was lucky enough to meet Drew and Randi at the first wedding I ever shot. They totally rocked the photo booth, and shortly after, contacted me regarding their own wedding.  After a while of planning, our schedules finally jived. The weather sucked, but we made the most of it. Really looking forward to shooting their upcoming wedding.

Family Vacation | Personal

We haven’t been back a week yet from our trip to Phoenix and already I’m homesick. For Phoenix. Seriously. It’s amazing there. Warm, clean, nice, clean. Kind of makes coming back to the sloppy slushy goop here in Southern Alberta a bit tough to swallow. Oh well. We soaked up all the sunshine we could and thoroughly enjoyed every single moment we were down there. Sleeping in, hanging by the pool and eating well. Nice. I even had a chance to squeeze in a few personal creative shoots. Those images can been found over on my other photo blog here.

This trip, I decided to shoot some film instead of digital. There’s just something about the roughness of film that I love. Film has more character than digital. I experimented with 4 different films for the most part, and these images are completely uncorrected either digitally on my computer or in the photo-lab where I had the rolls developed. I’ll be shooting a lot more film in the future. Love this stuff. Enjoy.

New Life | Calgary Newborn Photography

“A baby is God’s opinion that life should go on.”

I’m not sure who’s quote that is, but I remember when I first became a dad it meant so much to me. I’m honoured to be the first to take pictures of this new little life. So much wonder, joy, potential and future bound up in such a soft little package. Babies rule!

Little Girl | Calgary Children Photographer

Little girls are awesome. They’re so full of character, whit, energy, and yet so sweet and quiet at the same time.

My Sons and I | A moving portrait

Earlier this year, our little family went up to Fernie for a week. After a few day’s of mostly inside activities, the boys and I were restless to get outside. With a slightly warmer day, we went for a walk along the river. I shot some photos, and then it dawned on my that I can shoot full 1080 HD video with my Canon 5DMK2. It’s pretty rough and shaky as it was shot completely had held. Even with a heavy 70-200mm lens. I like they way it turned out in-spite of it’s technical flaws. Looking back at this, I’m so glad to be able to preserve memories this way. Something I’ll be doing much more of in the future. Enjoy.
